As part of the "Environment Week, Awareness and Action" program, an event addressing two important topics took place in the UniPiaget amphitheater on June 5: "Sustainability. The Role of NGOs in Cape Verde" and "Air Quality and Environmental Impact in Cape Verde, Challenges of Sustainable Development." The event was opened by the University Rector, Joanita Rodrigues, emphasizing that UniPiaget recognizes that environmental preservation is a collective effort that greatly benefits from strategic partnerships, especially with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) dedicated to this cause. The president of Quercus Cabo Verde highlighted the importance of the theme "Sustainability: The Role of NGOs in Cape Verde," emphasizing how these organizations contribute to promoting sustainable practices and raising awareness among the population about the importance of environmental protection. The second topic discussed was "Air Quality and Environmental Impact in Cape Verde, Challenges of Sustainable Development," where the challenges faced by the country to ensure development that does not compromise air quality and the environment were discussed. This event reinforced the need for collaboration between universities, NGOs, and society in general to promote actions aimed at sustainability and environmental protection in Cape Verde.
