Â鶹ÊÓƵ celebrates its 23rd anniversary with a series of events during Campus Week, under the theme "May, Month of Science and Literature". The ceremony began this Tuesday, May 7th, and was honored to have Dr. Eurídice Monteiro, Secretary of State for Higher Education, as the guest of honor, alongside the Magnificent Rector, Professor Joanita Rodrigues, and other distinguished guests. During the event, the university's 23 years of contribution to Cape Verde's development through education and the training of professionals who excel both nationally and internationally were highlighted. The university, which began its activities on May 7, 2001 with the Sociology course, has been a key player in human resources development and decision-making in various fields. The event featured inspiring speeches from key figures in the institution, such as Dr. Sandra Pires, General Administrator of the University, and the President of the Student Association, Mrs. Emily Rocha. There were also moments of reflection on internationalization and research conducted at UniPiaget, with lectures by Professor Lara Ferrero Gomez and Dr. Wlodzimierz Szymaniak. Furthermore, one of the most emotional moments was the certificate presentation to collaborator Maria Manuela Silva "Mamusca", who dedicated years of service to the university, thus recognizing her dedication and contribution to the institution's growth. The event also featured cultural moments, including poetry recitations in Spanish, traditional Cape Verdean musical presentations by Batucadeiras Nós Herança da Cidade Velha, providing a truly enriching celebration for all attendees. As the event concluded, participants were invited to sing happy birthday to Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
