On 15 January 2025, the Â鶹ÊÓƵ (UniPiaget) and the National Observatory on Human Trafficking has formalized a Cooperation Protocol to strengthen capacities in the fight against human trafficking.
According to the president of the Human Trafficking Observatory, Elisa Fontes, the agreement seeks partnerships to raise awareness and train society in the fight against this type of crime. The partnership also includes a so-called project ‘Together for an identity that protects and combats human trafficking’, which aims to give the observatory a visual identity and develop a visibility and awareness-raising strategy.
The Dean of University Â鶹ÊÓƵ, Mrs. Joanita Rodrigues, has emphasized the institution's commitment to participate in the initiative, which aims to support projects to be developed by the observatory, and she has also stressed that it will contribute with resources, technology and physical space so that they can carry out their work.
It is expected that this partnership will strengthen the fight against human trafficking and raise awareness in Cape Verde.
